Pastor Emanuel Allen Duncan was conceived by Pastor W.L.C. and Eula Duncan in the mid-70’s in NY with a difficult delivery as a 9lb. 14 oz. breech baby. From an early age he was unique and God was with him.
The young man excelled in academics and athletics. He played organized football, basketball, and golf while also participating in challenge programs, International Baccalaureate education, and Advance Placement classes. Emanuel graduated from Woodmont High School, where he met his wife to be, Jennifer Earl. After completing a dual-degree program with the College of Charleston and Clemson University he became an Associate Engineer with Mitsubishi Polyester Film in Greer, SC. His degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering respectively afforded him many opportunities to impact the corporate world.
In 2005 Emanuel received his call to the ministry
and was licensed as a Minister of the Gospel by Shady Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor James W. Nesbitt, Sr. The following year he accepted the call to pastor the Greater Life Christian Church in Spartanburg, SC and was ordained by the Reedy River Baptist Association. After ministering for less than 2 years in Spartanburg, Pastor Duncan returned home to serve as associate and interim pastor at Shady Grove Baptist Church. Following this appointment, he served as Minister of Technology for the Allen Temple A.M.E. Church in Greenville, SC as a part of his course work at Erskine Seminary. Emanuel accepted the call to pastor the Gethsemane Baptist Church in Greenville, SC in 2010. During his service there he completed the requirements for the Master of Divinity degree in 2011. He has licensed three ministers of the gospel and has three active ministers in training. Gethsemane has grown spiritually and baptized many youths as well as adults since 2010. Emanuel loves to teach and started a Bible Study at noon on Wednesday's with plans to extend the teaching arms of the church.
Emanuel has developed a passion for prison ministry as well as Missions. We will reach the lost and we will pay the cost. Emanuel is a loving father, husband and missionary. He has 3 beautiful children: Josiah, Nehemiah, and Amaziah. In 2019 he started Full-time missionary activity in the US. Emanuel does not work for money, he is always receptive of the gifts and blessings from God and his people.
